Obituary

Douglas Corey Linn, 46, of Burleson, Texas, formerly of Rock Island, IL. and Joliet, IL., passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 22, 2015. Memorial services for Mr. Linn will be 1 pm Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion, Post No. 246. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the National Parkinson Foundation 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.

Doug was born in Rock Island, IL on May 26, 1969 to Kimberly (nee Winger) and Richard Linn. He was raised in Joliet, IL. He graduation from Joliet West High School, Joliet, IL in 1987. Doug enlisted in the Army in 1989 and served his country until he was honorably discharged. A dedicated family man who cherished his children and grandchildren. His love of country and dedication to service followed him throughout his full life. He was a doting father, loving man and caring friend. Doug was an avid automobile hobbyist, reader, gamer, and jokester. He was a mentor to many, and a lover of animals. He will be sorely missed.

Doug is survived by his maternal grandfather, Richard Winger of Rock Island, IL; cherished partner, April Stevenson of Burleson, TX; parents, Richard & Kimberly Linn of Sevierville ,TN; sister Heather Linn-Ward of Sevierville, TN; uncle to Emily and Zoe Ward of Sevierville, TN; children Dana (Timothy) Dye of Smithville, MO; Stephen (Amber) Linn of Tampa, FL; Kathryn (Daniel) Knight of Oceanside, CA; Cody Linn of Blue Springs, MO; Brianna Lenczycki of Burleson, TX; Shelby Linn of Burleson, TX.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; grandfather to Allison and Zachary Dye of Smithville, MO, Liam and Declan Knight of Oceanside, CA.

Doug was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Col. Marvin H. Linn and Beverly E. (nee Danielson) Linn of Rock Island, IL; maternal grandmother Marilyn (nee Seyb) Winger of Rock Island, IL; and aunt Becky Winger of Tumwater, WA.
