Douglas Charles McGee, 55, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.  Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island.  Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Douglas was born September 10, 1961 in Houston, Texas, a son of Charles Sr. and Cloteal Norton McGee.  He attended school in Rock Island.  Douglas married Marnita Minter on August 8, 1993.

Douglas enjoyed spending time and cooking for his family.  His favorite past time was riding  his bike in the neighborhood, drawing, watching movies and listening to music.

Douglas leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Marnita Minter-McGee, Rock Island; daughters, Carmelita Minter, Rock Island and Alethea Minter, East Moline; son, DeShane (Allycia) Minter, Rock Island; seven grandchildren; sisters, Cloria (Oscar) Morrison, Mae (Pete) Mickeal and Theresa Johnson, all of Rock Island; brothers, Charles McGee Jr., Rock Island and Earman (Lavonda) Johnson Jr., Cabot, Ark.; and special aunt, Ester Mae Coneal, San Jose, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Charlene Dilworth.
