Douglas Michael Wherry, 56, of Rockford, formerly of Rock Island, died Friday, March 2, 2018 at Tulip Group Home in Rockford.

A Visitation for Doug will be held from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7 ^th Ave., Rock Island.  Burial in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, will follow the visitation. Memorials may be made to Milestone, Inc.

Douglas was born July 6, 1961, in Aledo, the son of Lester Wherry and Carley Fisher Wherry.

Loves of his life were trucks and dogs.

Surviving are his father, Lester Wherry, Rock Island and brother, David (Mariann) Wherry, Medinah, Ill.,

He was preceded in death by his mother on Dec. 4, 1981; brother, Dana, and his grandparents.
