Duane G. Wilker, 89, of Moline, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Saturday October 20, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 27, at First Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Parish House Endowment Fund of First Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Duane was born February 9, 1929 in St. Olaf, Iowa, a son of Fred and Amanda Wilker. He graduated from Rock Island High School. He received his B.A. degree from Augustana College, Class of 1951. He married Karin Charlotte Gustafson on October 12, 1957 at the First Lutheran Church, Rock Island. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2017. Duane was an accountant for the former Fairbanks Morse Co., later for Ametek, and retired from the former Larson Funeral Home. In his retirement he worked for the Quad City Convention and Visitors Bureau and volunteered at the Col. Davenport House on Arsenal Island. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, and served on the church council and was Finance Secretary for many years. Other memberships include former president of the Board of Trustees for Friendship Manor, Rock Island and the Institute of Management Accountants- Illowa Chapter. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Pamela J. and David King, Rock Island; son, Douglas D. Wilker, Austin, Tex.; grandchildren, Birgitta Lundin and Nils Lundin; step-grandchildren, Kara King and Molly King; and great-grandchildren, Natalie, Kaleb, Lanell, Damarion, Ella, Gabriel, Evan, Kendall, Donovan and Zakery; and several nieces and nephews. Duane was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Rueben and Wilmer Wilker.
