IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dupree L.
Welcome, Sr.
February 1, 1959 – April 8, 2021
Dupree "Dump" Welcome was born on February 1, 1959 to the parents of Vinnie Wells and Paul Wells in Cleveland Ohio. He moved to the Quad Cities with his parents and attended the Rock Island School system. He received his wings on April 8th, surrounded by his family and friends at his home.
Dupree loved to fish and was an avid gambler; he enjoyed for many years the Quad City Downs and can be seen there by friends.
Dupree was a family person. He loved his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends; who also loved him dearly. Dupree owned his own business, "D&D" Painting Company. He had the joy of painting many businesses and homes throughout the Quad Cities. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed telling family stories; he had a way of telling the stories in a way you could imagine being right there in the story
Dupree leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Brittney Welcome of Rock Island, his son, Dupree Welcome Jr. (Logan Miner) of Des, Moines IA; his grandchildren: Brennen Wilson and Cameryn Welcome; his siblings: Vickie Wells, Paulette (Keith) Rice, Paul Wells, and James Hall, all of Rock Island; Camille and Charla Welcome of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him well. Dump also had a lifelong friend, Vicki Welcome.
Dupree was proceeded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Pierre; and the three fathers that were in his life: Paul Wells, Sammie Vaughn, Leonard Welcome; and a grandson, Brayden.
A special thank you to his sister, Vickie; his nieces, Teairra, Shiya, Chelsea and cousin, Tronda for helping to care for him during his final days.
