Earl H. Kroeger, 85, a resident of Friendship Manor and Rock Island, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 under the care of Genesis Hospice. He was a St. Plus X parishioner.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Friendship Manor Chapel, 1209 21st Ave, Rock Island.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., following visitation, at the Chapel.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Maui Farm or Friendship Manor.

Earl Howard Kroeger was born Feb. 1, 1931 to Theodore and Mabel Kroeger of Long Grove, Iowa. He married Martha Dugan on Sept. 29, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rock Island. Earl graduated from Davenport High School and Deforest Training School with a degree in electronics. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Hilltop Television and Satellite, Davenport, for 35 years.

An avid hunter, fisherman and boater he was also active on community councils and Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha; daughter, Paula Ambre; sons, Ricky J. (Debra) Kroeger, Curtis E. (Mindy) Kroeger, sister, Inez Sharp; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas and daughter, Christie; his parents, seven brothers and one sister.
