Earnestean "Tean" Jones, 79, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by family.

A visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.

Tean was born August 28, 1944, in Homer, Louisiana. She attended Greater Antioch Church in Rock island. Tean always loved taking care of children and ran her own daycare for most of her life. She loved spending time with her family, especially cooking for them during the holidays. Tean enjoyed shopping.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Marcus (Allyson) Quick (great nephew/son), LaTasha Quick (great niece/daughter); and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and all of the children she has helped raise over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ivory Doss, Willie Doss, Nadine Sims, Majorie Walton, Gerldine Combs, and Dorothy Ann Morgan; and life-long best friend, Palestine McWilliams.
