Echo Sutton-Downs, 43, of Moline passed away on Monday, September 12, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Trinity - Rock Island, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Echo was born on December 17, 1972 in Moline, a daughter of Raymond and Sharon Petterson Smith. She attended Moline schools and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. Following her military service, she earned her Bachelor's degree from University of Phoenix and Master's degree in Psychology from Ashford University. She married John Downs, Jr. on May 28, 2011 in Savanna, IL. Echo had currently been working at Vera French Community Mental Health Center in Davenport as a Recreational Therapist.
Echo greatly enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with her family. She was a proud Stage 4 Breast Cancer survivor and was currently in remission.
Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Colette Sutton; parents, Ray and Sharon Smith, California; brother, Raymond Smith, Jr., Idaho; sisters, Renae Anderson, Moline, Debra McCaw and Julie Smith, California and many other loving family members and friends.
