Edith A. Hemphill, 86, of Milan, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan. Services for Edith are 11am, Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal  Welfare Center, Milan.

Edith was born on August 16, 1930 in Moline, a daughter of Raymond and Mary Andrews Johnson. She married Robert Cavin. Later Edith married Harold Hemphill on May 11, 1951 in Moline. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2014. Mrs. Hemphill was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Sherrard Lions Club. Edith was a talented artist, who enjoyed painting.

Survivors include her children, Linda Anderson, Milan, Brenda Krause, Colorado Springs, CO., and David (Mary) Hemphill, Estes Park, CO.; grandchildren, Darrin (Jodi) Flynn, Chadwick, IL., James (Tina) Flynn, Fargo, N.D., Carrie Anderson, Milan, and Ashley Frutiger, Portland, OR. ; eight great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
