Edmund R. McGlynn Jr., 76, of East Moline, formerly of Lake Forest, Illinois, passed away Monday September 15, 2025 at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation, East Moline.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.

Edmund was born on November 7, 1948 in Chicago, the son of Edmund and RoseMarie (Wolf) McGlynn. He graduated from West Leyden High School in Northlake, Illinois where he excelled in wrestling and football. Edmund later attended Illinois Institute of Technology and later graduated from John Marshall Law School, Chicago. He married Linda Chavez in Glendale Heights and the couple was married for 52 years.

Mr. McGlynn had practiced law in Chicago for over 40 years last being partner at Lesser, Lutrey, McGlynn and Howe in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Edmund was an avid tennis and paddleball player, Chicago White Sox fan and loved vacationing in the Caribbean. He was also active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Open Lands and Prairie State Legal.

Survivors include his son, Michael E. McGlynn, St. Croix US Virgin Islands; grandchildren, Jack, Morgan, Henry and Charles McGlynn; siblings, Gail Femali, Addison, Illinois, Fred McGlynn, Milan, Illinois and former wife, Linda Chavez-McGlynn; nieces and nephews, Frank, Roger and Brian Femali, Sarah and Ellen McGlynn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and RoseMarie.
