Obituary

Edna M. Fiedler, 83, of Milan, passed away Sunday February 4, 2018 at Heartland Health Care, Moline.

Services will be 10:00am Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the First Presbyterian Church Music Program.

Edna was born on February 8, 1934 in Moline, the daughter of John M. and Dorothy A. (Crosby) Engstrom. Edna was a graduate of Rock Island High School and later Black Hawk College with an Associate's Degree. She married Ted Paul Fiedler on April 21, 1953 in Rock Island.

Mrs. Fiedler had been employed with Bituminous Insurance Company from 1951 to 1953. She later stayed home to raise her children and was the best domestic engineer. In 1978 she began working for the federal government until her retirement in 1998.

Edna was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Coal Valley, where she was active as a deacon, with the bell choir, choir, the Lunch Bunch and "Puddle Players" for cardiac rehab. Above all else, Edna loved sewing and crafts.

Survivors include children, Michael (Donna) Fiedler, Rock Island, Michelle Fiedler, Milan, Martin (Reba) Fiedler, Sherrard, Matthew Fiedler, Mt. Hope, KS, Mitchell (Wendy) Fiedler, Orion, Marshall (Cheryl) Fiedler, Kaiserslautern, Germany; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren with another on the way; sister, Doris Engstrom, Rock Island; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Dana and Patty Miller, Quinton and Tracy Waterman and Gloria Exnor, from the Puddle Players.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ted; brothers, Ernest, John and Charles.
