Edna M. Vroman, 98, of Taylor Ridge, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 at Avonlea Cottages, Milan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia. Burial is at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Reynolds, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church or to The Arc of the Quad Cities Area.
Edna May Dunlap was born Oct. 13, 1917 in Milan, a daughter of Fred and Minnie Haas Dunlap. She married Edward P. Vroman on Feb. 3, 1936 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. He died March 23, 1998.
Edna was a dedicated farm wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and its Altar Society. Edna was also a member of the Neighborhood Club, Garden Club and several card clubs. She was generous person, had a green thumb, enjoyed playing cards and quilting. Edna served as a volunteer with American Cancer Society and was volunteer librarian at the Reynolds Library.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Francis and Sue Vroman and Paul and Nancy Vroman, all of Taylor Ridge; grandchildren, Michael (Bonnie) Vroman, John (Rosa) Vroman, Christine Vroman, JoAnn (Jeff) DePauw, Julie (R.J.) Brua, James Vroman, and Ronald (Kelly) Vroman; nine great-grandchildren; and three great great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Edward Joseph Vroman; granddaughter, Jan Vroman; great-granddaughter, Laura Vroman; and her sister, Margaret Imel.
