Edward J. Housby, Sr., 80, of Rock Island, died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family.  Private graveside services will be held at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery.

Edward was born March 27, 1938 in LaSalle, IL, to John and Gertrude Housby.  Edward retired from J.I. Case Tennico in 1992.  Edward married Margaret A. Comp on January 29, 1960.  Ed's hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children, Therese (Jeff) Adams, Virginia Beach, VA, Dennis (Patty Lach) Housby, Yorkville, IL, Deborah Housby-Bundy, Rock Island, Patricia (Robert) Cather, Sherrard, IL, Rose Housby-Mann, East Moline, IL, Mary (Kraig) Liddell, LeClaire, IA, daughter in law, Linda Housby; son in law, Michael Roberts; 19 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 fur babies; 3 sisters and 2 brothers

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Edward J. Housby, Jr., daughter, Lori Housby-Roberts; granddaughter, Sgt. Jessica Housby; son in law, Marvin Bundy; daughters in law, Gail Milligan-Housby, LeeLynn Cox-Housby; 6 sisters and 1 brother.

A Celebration of Life for Ed will be held at a later date.
