Edward J. "Ned" Lavell, 70, of Rock Island, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at his home.

Graveside services will be 11 am on Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299.

Ned was born Sept. 6, 1947 in Moline, a son of Edward A. and Dolores "Orzie" Maxwell Lavell.  He attended Wentworth Military Academy and Alleman High School.  He worked as a parts delivery person for Arnold Motor Supply.  Ned had previously been an inspector for Quad City Distribution and earlier worked for Premium Ink.

He enjoyed watching and participating in all sports.

Survivors include nieces, Melissa Green and Melinda Clark; nephews, Doug, Trent and Luke Lavell; sisters-in-law, Karen and Judy Lavell; and other loving family members and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Tim and Jim Lavell.
