IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward D.
"Junior" Glidewell, Jr
August 15, 1960 – July 26, 2015
Edward D. "Junior" Glidewell, Jr., 54, of Milan, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mr. Glidewell will be 11 am, Wednesday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Andalusia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Junior was born on August 15, 1960 in Milan, Missouri, the son of Edward Glidewell Sr. and Iris Sterling Glidewell. He married Connie Woeckener on August 20, 1983 in Edgington. Junior worked as an auto body repairman his entire life alongside his Dad and good friend Jim Galusha at Ed and Jim's Auto Body Shop, Milan. The three were known for restoring classic cars to their former glory. Family and friends say he enjoyed anything with a motor and could often be found watching NASCAR, NHRA, motocross, or tractor pulls. Junior was known for being a night owl, his love of mountain dew, and his love of trucks and cars, especially his blue Chevy 4 x 4, which would often be dialed into his favorite radio station 97X. Growing up he had many four legged friends and always loved animals, especially dogs.
Junior was also known for his kind heart and baby blue eyes. Despite his hard fight against cancer, his eyes never lost their sparkle and he maintained a positive attitude and hopeful outlook. His family would like to thank Dr. Porubcin, his staff, and the Infusion Center for their quality care. They would also liked to give special thanks to Dan Morris for his lifelong friendship with Junior.
Survivors include his daughter, Catherine Glidewell, Walcott; sisters, Julie Beasley, Davenport, and Pamela (John) Klossing, Reynolds; nieces, Johnna (Adam) Kerres, Jacqueline Klossing and Shannon Beasley; and special friends, Dan and Patti Morris.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents. Online condolences may be left for the family at wheelanpressly.com
