Obituary

Edward John Koch, 90, of Milan, passed away Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30a.m., Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00pm on Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, with a rosary recited at 2:00p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.
Edward was born on May 17, 1925 the son of Edward and Anna Koch. He attended St. Mary's Grade School and later St. Joseph High School. Mr. Koch was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran, where he served as a tail gunner on a B-17, while stationed in England. After returning from the Military he enrolled at St. Ambrose College and received a bachelor's degree in business.
He had been employed with Business Systems, Coca-Cola and the Illinois Army reserve stationed on the Rock Island Arsenal.
Edward enjoyed photography and collecting cameras, fishing, cribbage, traveling, reading and collecting antiques.
Survivors include his nephews, Kim(Betty) Lofquist, Dustin, FL, Larry Lofquist, Woodhull, IL, William Lofquist, Johnston, IA; niece, Julie(Joseph) Aring, Taylor Ridge; cousins, David(Sheila) Sallen, Fort Madison, IA and James(Ann) Sallen, Bloomington, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Eleanor May Lofquist; a nephew, Bob and niece, Linda.
