Edward R. Stovall, beloved husband, father, and friend passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 77 surround by his family. There will be a visitation from 9:30 - 10:30 AM with a funeral service following at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL.
He was born on October 27, 1947 in Rock Island, Illinois to Edward R. Stovall Sr. (deceased) and Vicie L. Stovall (deceased).
Edward had a deep passion for sports cars, especially corvettes and jazz music. He could out dance the best of them. His presence illuminated every room he entered, and his warm smile brought comfort to all who knew him. In 2012 Edward married his loving wife, Zira whom he would say to everyone "that's my girl" and together they lived a comfortable and happy life in Joliet, Illinois until God called him home.
He loved and admired deeply his two sons, Tyler (little bear) and Edward (big bear) affectionally. Edward never met a stranger. He attended and graduated from Rock Island High School. He continued on with a successful career with Kraft Heinz Corporation where he retired after 30 years of service.
Edward R. Stovall is survived by his wife, Zira Stovall, his two sons, Edward Stovall (Holly) of Sedalia Missouri, Tyler Stovall (Stephanie) of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Dave Stovall and Larry Stovall of Rock Island, Illinois, and one sister, Gwentha Stovall of Rock Island, Illinois. Edward is preceded in death by his parents, two siblings and one grandchild. He leaves to mourn a host of cousins, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly. Edward's legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched throughout his career and in his personal life.
