Elaine I. Dixon, 91, formerly of Andalusia, passed away Tuesday September 8, 2026 at Silver Cross Nursing, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Monday September 14, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00am to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Andalusia Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Birdies for Charity or Friendship Manor.

Elaine was born in July of 1935 in Rock Island the daughter of Harry and Esther (Schmeckel) Flack. She married Donald L. Dixon on June 6, 1953 in Mercer County.

Elaine had been employed at the former St. Anthony’s Hospital in the dietary department. Previously she had worked at Bishops, where she baked pies.

She was a former member of Taylor Ridge United Methodist Church and Roll Aways Square Dance Club. Elaine loved feeding Cardinals, growing roses, playing Euchre at the Lions Club and reading.

Survivors include her children, Deborah (Dennis) Drees, Iowa City, Iowa, Ricky Dixon, Moline; grandchildren, Kari Beltz, Matt Drees, Sam Dixon; great grandchildren, Logan, Carson, Nora, Weston and Blake; grandsons in law, Mike McCarthy and Jake Beltz; sister in law, Sandy Dixon; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Douglas Leon Dixon; brothers, Harry A. (Margaret) Flack, Kenneth (Cindy) Flack; parents, Harry and Esther; granddaughter, Deana McCarthy; brother in law, James Dixon; sister in law, Jeannette (Dick) Brems.
