Elaine J. Macias, 79, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at Hope Creek Nursing and Rehab, East Moline.  Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded.  Inurnment will be private at Northside Cemetery, Geneseo.  Memorials may be made in care of the Galapagos Conservancy or by visiting www.galapagos.org.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Elaine was born on January 6, 1945, a daughter of Harold and Lola Holloway.  She graduated from Geneseo High School.

Elaine worked as a secretary for WQAD after high school.  She then spent fifty plus years in the glass business.  She has been the owner and operator of Quality Glass and Mirror in Rock Island for the last forty years.

Elaine was an avid traveler who enjoyed frequenting Ecuador.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Todd Hamilton, Rock Island and Scott D. Hamilton, Trussville, AL; grandchildren, Destiny (Emilo) Almanza and Jordan Hamilton; and great-grandson, Henry Almanza.  She also had a friend she considered a sister, Shay Macias.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Mike.
