Elizabeth "Liz" Battie , 89, of Rock Island, passed away Monday February 17, 2020 at home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, at The Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 2106 7th Ave., Rock Island, IL, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Elizabeth was born April 6, 1930 in Tchula, Mississippi, a daughter of T.J. and Irene Brown Rogers. She was previously married to George Battie Jr. and later to Johnny C. Lee.

She is survived by her children, Eldora Battie, Rock Island, Cornelius Battie, Chicago, Gloria Lee, Davenport, Gerry (Vicki) Lee, Chicago, and Melvin (Hester) Battie, Columbus, MO; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Larry (Diane) Rogers, Chicago and Willie (Delores) Rogers, Davenport; and a host of nieces, nephews and additional family.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnny; sons, Henry and Johnny Battie; brothers, Tommy Lee and Cleopha Rogers; and her sister, Nellie Lee Hodges.
