Elizabeth I. Bowsher, 77 of Rock Island, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at the home of her daughter Lisa, in Green Bay, Wis.

Funeral services are 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be 4 pm until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be later at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice or to the American Lung Association.

Elizabeth I. Burgess was born Dec. 18, 1937 in Rock Island, a daughter of John J. Jr. and Florence Mae Woodard Burgess.

She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1955 and attended Cornell College, Mount Vernon, Iowa. Elizabeth worked at John Deere Insurance for 35 years and retired from the claim department in 2002.

She enjoyed doing cross stitch and knitting. Elizabeth was a strong women who raised her children on her own. Her greatest love was for her children whom she always put before herself.

Survivors include her son, Robert Bowsher, Rock Island; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Daniel Olmsted, Green Bay; grandson, Trevor Olmsted, Green Bay; and her sister, Patricia Burgess, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by her parents.
