Elizabeth E. Jones, 83, of Moline, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Mrs. Jones will be 10:30 am on Thursday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 pm to 6 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Elizabeth was born on January 29, 1931 in Elmyra, New York, a daughter of Ernest Matthews and Ruth Sherrard Matthews. She married Thomas E. Jones on September 30, 1949 in Rock Island. Thomas preceded his wife in death on December 12, 2010. Mrs. Jones worked in the Men's Department at the Younkers Department Store in South Park Mall, Moline, retiring in 1987. She was a member of the DAR. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to shop and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her children, Deborah (Mark) Landhauser, Palatine, IL, and Bruce (Jane) Jones, Milan; grandchildren, Danielle (Jason) Newburn, Carol Stream, IL, and Andrea Jones, Milan; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Wildred Ling, Ohio.
