Elizabeth M. "Liz" Kerres, 88, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at Silver Cross Nursing Home, Rock Island.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. For those unable to attend in person, Liz's service will be live-streamed at https://www.wheelanpressly.com/live-stream. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moline Church of Christ (4800 38th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265) where Liz was a member.
Liz was born August 29, 1934, in Franklin County, Tennessee, to Murry and Evelyn (Vaughn) Ingram. She married John E. "Pete" Kerres on February 2, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2022. Liz worked as a cook in Rock Island and Cedar Rapids school districts. She was an active member of Moline Church of Christ.
Liz enjoyed quilting, sewing, ceramics, playing board games, and time outdoors. She always attended and cheered for her children and grandchildren in sports they participated in and never missed an event. Liz especially enjoyed baking and singing for area nursing home residents with her friends. Above all, Liz cherished time spent with her family.
Liz is survived by her children, Ron (Luann) Kerres, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donna Kerres, Moline, Lynn (Tammy) Kerres, Taylor Ridge, and Steve (Tina) Kerres, Rock Island; brother, Dan "Gene" Ingram, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Liz was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, James Ingram; sister-in-law, George Ann Ingram; sister, Ruth Kerres; and brother-in-law, Robert "Bob" Kerres.
