Monica E. Sjoholm, 88, of Rock Island, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island.  Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Westville.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.

Monica was born June 10, 1927 in England, a daughter of Oscar George and Olive Stapeton Sjoholm.  She had worked from her home as a seamstress making wedding dresses.

She is survived by her sister, Miriam Musk of Las Vegas; granddaughter, Brittany Lee of Boca Raton, Fla.; and nieces and nephews.  Monica was preceded in death by her son, A Paul Rowland.  Online condolences may be left at wheelanpressly.com.
