Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Ringoen, 78, of Roseville, formerly of Reynolds, passed away Saturday June 29, 2024 at Generations Rehabilitation and Nursing, Rock Island.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday July 8, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Monmouth. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Monmouth. Memorials may be left to the family.

Elizabeth was born on January 28, 1946 in Monmouth, the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth Mills Thompson. She was a graduate of Monmouth High School and later graduated from Western Illinois University with a Master's degree in education. Elizabeth married Robert Ringoen on August 5, 1977. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2018.

Elizabeth had been employed by United School District 304, Monmouth as a teacher, and continued her career in education once she moved to the Quad Cities. After retiring from her career in education, she worked as an advocate for individuals with disabilities.  She was a member of Immaculate Church, Monmouth, Illinois Teachers Association, Monmouth-Roseville Education Association, Illinois Reading Association, the National Honor Society during her High school and college education and volunteered as a 4H leader..

Ann enjoyed flower gardening, attending sporting events of her family members, and following her favorite sports teams on tv.  She loved attending family events and being surrounded by her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Sonia Enderby, Heidi Carr, both of Arizona, Kristin (Matt) Dean, St. Charles, Illinois; grandchildren, Alaina, Isaiah, Dalton, Jackson, Henry and George; great grandchildren,  Keean, Ariella and Sapphire; siblings, Steve (Kathy) Thompson, Robert (Kathy) Thompson, William (Diane) Thompson, Edward (Annette) Thompson, Roy Thompson, Joe (Amy) Thompson, Rose Boaz; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, Robert and Elizabeth; brother, Frank Thompson and niece, Amy Thompson.
