In Loving Memory of Elizabeth Kay Williams (1947-2023)

Elizabeth Kay Williams, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 17, 2023, at the age of 76. Elizabeth was born on January 18, 1947, in Milwaukee, WI, to Clarence and Mary (Jones) Williams. There, she attended North Division High School and graduated with the class of 1966.

After her high school days, Elizabeth embraced family life, marrying and raising four children. Her journey led her to Rock Island in 1977, where she welcomed five more children alongside partner Jimmie Horton. Her life's tapestry was woven with threads of hospitality, cleanliness, and devotion as she undertook roles in hospitality, housekeeping, and more. Yet, her true calling came to light in her later years as she embraced her role as the matriarch of her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory: nine children, Renee Johnson of Houston, TX, D'Angelo Wilburn of Milwaukee, WI, Dewayne Wilburn of Rock Island, IL, Jerome Wilburn of Milan, IL, Devona Williams of Bentonville, AR, Jimmy Williams of Bentonville, AR, Terell (Susana) Williams of Rock Island, IL, Eddie (Nashira) Williams of Rock Island, IL, and Dale Williams of Moline, IL; one sister, Lois A. Pinion of Rock Island, IL; three brothers, Clarence E. Williams of Seattle, WA, Dennis R. Williams of Rock Island, IL, and Harvey L. Williams of Milwaukee, WI; thirty-five grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Williams, and ex-husband Willie Wilburn.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
