Elsie Myrlene Rittenhouse, 84, of Rock Island passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Allure of the Quad Cities, Moline. Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded, and no services are to be held. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Elsie was born in Adair, IL on April 20, 1939, a daughter of Lois (Howard) Harland and Calvin Huston. She married Kenneth D. Rittenhouse on September 7, 1961, in Carthage, IL and he preceded her in death on February 21, 2018.

Elsie was a homemaker for many years, raising four children. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved chihuahua, Annie. Elsie always put others first and loved to cook. She was well known for her positive attitude and bright smile. Elsie spent most of her free time keeping her one-armed bandit, Ken, away from the casino.

Those left to cherish Elsie's memory include her children, Tami (Mike) Dreifurst, Port Byron, Mark Rittenhouse, Texas, Kendra Wheatley, Rock Island, and Lori Rittenhouse, Rock Island; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Donna Guldenzopf and Tom Harland.
