Ernest I. Stevens, Sr., 71, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.  Per his wishes, Ernest has been cremated and no services are planned.

Ernest was born on February 18, 1946 in Vicksburg, MS, a son of Henry and Lauren (Pounders) Stevens.  Early on he had worked as a knifemaker, but had been disabled for a number of years.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Brock, Ernest, Jr. and Bobby Joe; several grandchildren , a sister, Betty and brother, Timmy McDonald

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann, parents and siblings, Margaret and Jimmy.
