Esther M. Shaw, 75, of Milan, passed away Monday May 13, 2024 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island.

Private services will be held Monday May 20, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Memorials may be left to Milan Food Pantry or QC Animal Welfare Center.

Esther was born on January 22, 1949 in Davenport, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Smith) Shirlaw. She attended Davenport Schools and graduated from Davenport Central. She later graduated from Blackhawk College with an associates degree. Esther married Robert Shaw Jr. on November 17, 1968 in Davenport.

Mrs Shaw retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 30 years as being employed as a secretary.

She loved spending time with her family and close friends, gardening and caring for her flowers.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Shaw; daughter, Brady Shaw; son, Rob Shaw; granddaughters, Madalyn (Michael) Rohler, Natalie Shaw, Georgia Shaw; siblings, Bobby (Melanee) Shirlaw, Rebecca Shirlaw (John Long) , Cheryl Meeks, Evelyn (Harold) Shaw; brother and sister in law, Lee (Nancy) Shaw; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
