Eugene C. Andrus, 79, of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016 at his home. Services for Mr. Andrus will be 9:30 am, Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Rock Island. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 - 7 pm, at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Oak lawn Cemetery, Cresco, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Children's Miracle Network.

Gene was born on November 12, 1936 in Cresco, Iowa, a son of Glenn and Mary Reynolds Andrus. Mr. Andrus worked was a truck driver for Midwest Carrier Transport for over 30 years. He retired from trucking in 2005. He was a member of the Watch Hill Towers Social Club and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Gene was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his sons, Robert Andrus, St. Francis, MN., Richard Andrus, Dubuque,  Eugene T. Andrus, Scottsville, KY., Raymond Andrus, Dubuque, and Wayne Andrus, Corpus Christi, TX.; 26 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Henry Andrus, Roy, WA., Gerry Andrus, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and LaVonne Roethler, Apache Junction, AZ.
