Eva Rae Matherly, 89, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday February 28, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Funeral services are 10:00am Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be left to Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan.

Eva was born on April 21, 1927 in Princeton, IA, the daughter of Fred and Ruby (Drinkwine) Grams. She married Melvin Matherly Sr. on June 21, 1942 in Keokuk, IA. Melvin Sr. preceded her in 2008.

Mrs. Matherly had been employed at Platts Garden Center.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan. Eva loved spending time with her family, West Coast travels, all animals, gardening, crocheting and refinishing furniture.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Sheri Williams, Moline, Barbara Schmidt and Beverly (Bill)Coolidge, all of Arizona; daughter in law, Lee Matherly; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Melvin Matherly Jr.; daughter, Susan Peterson; sister, Florence White; brothers,  LaVerne Grams, George Grams , Fred Grams Jr. and Carl Grams.
