Evell Hearn, 77 of Rock Island, Il passed away Wednesday
July 27, 2022 in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Evell Hearn was born on December 31st, 1944, to Willie
and Mattie Hearn. He was united in marriage with Eva M.
Lard. Evell moved to Rock Island, Il from Collierville
TN in the early 60's to pursue a career at Montgomery
elevator, then as a welder for BlackHawk Foundary. He
was known for being very good with his hands and was
experienced in automotive maintenance and housing
repairs.
Evell Hearn was easy going which is how he received his
name "Eazy". He loved to celebrate and spend time with
family and friends. He enjoyed sports (his favorite team
was the lakers) He enjoyed wrestling and watching old
Western movies. Evell should be remembered for his
passion for family, cooking, and playing a mean hand
of spades. As well as his no-nonsense attitude and for a
voice that was sure to catch anyone attention and get
them in line.
Evell will be survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eva
Mae Hearn. His daughters Evett, Trenda, and Mellissa
Hearn, his 11 grandchildren, Dalevonte, Shytearria,
Shakeena, Desany, Taraney, Dedra, Devon, Corey,
Trenton, Drasen, and Daris Hearn, 16 great grand kids,
as well as siblings Betty (Ed) Gray, Dean (Linda) Hearn,
Vickie Hearn, Lois Hearn and a host of loving nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Mattie
Hearn, His mother -in-law Ora Mae Lard, siblings:
Charles Hearn, Willie (June) Hearn II, Tinnie (Sis) Beason,
Mattie (Lil Sis) Mae Hearn, Walter (Bra) Hearn, Roosevelt
(Sweet) Hearn, and his twin Conell (Haw-Haw) Hearn.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday at
the Knox Chapel of Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 2106
7th Ave, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00
pm on Tuesday at the Knox Chapel. Burial will be in
Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. A repast will be
held on Wednesday following the committal service at Eazy's
Royal Lounge, 1312 13th St., East Moline. Memorials may be
made in care of the family.
