Evelyn Mae Hoover, 88, of Milan, passed away Wednesday September 24, 2025 at Silver Cross Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.

A Memorial service will be 11:00AM Tuesday September 30, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The family will greet friends from 10:00AM to service time. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be left to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Evelyn was born on October 7, 1936 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Lloyd and Dorothy (Weaver) Bushert. She married Russell Hoover on July 21, 1983 in Arkansas.

Evelyn had been employed at Quad City Die Casting for 26 years as a machine operator.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, gardening, attending church and church activities, baking and entertaining friends. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed her cats.

Survivors include her sons, Russell Hoover Jr., Milan and Victor "Dave" Hoover, Milan; 5 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russel in 2004; siblings, Emily Fuse, Eunice Sellers, Dolores Kannaley, Forrest Bushert and Merlin Bushert.
