Evelyn A. Bennett, 83, of Milan, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bennett will be 2 pm on Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. Visitation will  be Saturday from 1 to 2 at the church.  Burial will be in Chapel Grove Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

Evelyn was born on October 11, 1933 in Willisville, Ill. a daughter of Albert and Louise Ehler Castens. She married Larry Bennett on September 18, 1954. He preceded her in death in 2001.

Evelyn retired from Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island, where she had worked as a housekeeper.  She was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.

Survivors include her children, Craig Bennett, Milan and Tammy (Donald) Means, Bradenton, Fla.;  three grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Raisbeck, Mindy (Robert) Geiger and Justin Means; four great grandchildren; and siblings, Ronald Castens, Broken Arrow, Ok. and Jim Castens, Silvis.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; and siblings, Phyllis Johnson, Debra Clark, Alvin Castens, Albert Castens, Leroy Castens and Carol Clark.
