Evelyn M. Chatterson, 92, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island.

Private family graveside services will be Wednesday at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. There is no visitation. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Evelyn was born September 22, 1923 in Freeport, IL, a daughter of Wilbur and Leota Thomas Beer. She married Robert B. Chatterson in 1950 in Maquoketa, IA. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2008.

Evelyn will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed sewing and caring for her home and family.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and James Riggs,  Las Vegas, NV, Jane and Dr. Patrick Cunningham, Rock Island; sons and daughters -in-law,  Benjamin and Joyce Chatterson,  Montgomery Village, MD, Steven and Cheryl  Kulp, Aurora, IL; grandchildren, Brian Cunningham, and his wife Julie, Casey Cunningham,  Haley Carlson, and her husband Charles, Ryan Kulp,  Sarah Absetz, and her husband Brian, and Robert Chatterson; great-grandchildren, Jana, Evelyn, Alexander and Dean.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her parents.
