Evelyn D. Falconer, 84, of Coyne Center, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her home. Services for Mrs. Falconer will be 7 pm, Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.

Evelyn was born on May 15, 1935 in Rock Island, daughter of Ernest and Helen Baxter Nelson. She married Howard Falconer on November 13, 1954 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on November 16, 1986. Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper at Evans Manufacturing in Rock Island for several years before her retirement. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island and the Second Winders. Evelyn enjoyed bird watching, baking, swimming, biking, the TV show Heartland and was an avid #24 Jeff Gordon fan. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's events.

Survivors include her children, Mike Falconer, Coyne Center, Kathy (Jim) Ekblad, Davenport, Terri Nelson, Colchester and Connie (Dan) Helm, Sherrard; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild; brother, Robert (Judy) Nelson, Swansea, Illinois and sister, Barbara (Leo) Hirschbuehler, Andalusia.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; and a son, Danny Falconer.

A special thank you and love to Darla and Tammy, who gave their kind and compassionate care just as if she was their own mom. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to everyone at Heartland Hospice for all of their efforts in the care of Evelyn.
