Evelyn S. Hartman,90, of Rock Island, formerly of Milan, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014 at her home. Services will be 10:30 am, Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Farlow Grove Cemetery, Matherville.

Memorials may be made to the Preemption United Methodist Church or to Heartland Hospice.

Evelyn was born on July 31, 1924 in Lone Tree, Iowa, a daughter of Eric Peterson and Elsie Cline Peterson. She graduated from Matherville High School. Evelyn married John E. Hartman on June 6, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2010. Evelyn was a sale representative for Avon for over 48 years. She was a member of Preemption United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, going out to eat and especially loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Jane) Hartman, Sherrard, Peggy (Tom) Thompson, Sherrard and Cindy (Lee) Wulf, Davenport; grandchildren, Jeff (Becky), Anissa, Travis (Florence), Brice, Lacey (Nathan) and Josh; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
