Everett E. "Gene" Francis, 86, of Milan, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Services for Gene will be 11 am, Thursday at Moline Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Gene was born on December 30, 1928 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Jesse E. Francis and Martha V. "Velma" Willis Francis. Mr. Francis was a real estate agent for Good Day Real Realty, Moline. Previously Gene had worked at Ericksen Chevrolet, Milan. He was a member of Moline Church of Christ. Gene raised and loved Quarter Horses. He also loved Chevys.

Survivors include his children, Terri (Michael) VanKlaveren, Colona, and Michael (Diane) Francis, Milan; grandchildren, Heather Kizer and Adam Francis; siblings, Ed Francis, Geneseo, and Velma "Laveda" Kaufman, Moline; and his significant other, Claudie Corley, Milan.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; and a grandson, Chad VanKlaveren.
