Everett R. Olive, 78, of Reynolds, died Sunday, August 7, 2022 at home surrounded by family. A funeral service will be 6:30 pm Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 W. Edgington St., Reynolds. Visitation will be from 4-6:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside committal service will be 1 pm Friday, August 12, 2022 at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will be conducted. Those wishing to attend should plan on meeting at 12:30 pm Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the YMCA of Aledo, United Methodist Church, Reynolds or a non-profit veteran organization of your choice.
Everett was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on February 9, 1944, a son of George and Mildred Ariel Jones Olive. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran serving in Vietnam.
Everett married Michelle Blundell on April 19, 1980 in Rock Island, Illinois.
He was a supervisor for various foundries for many years in the area and retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 25 years of service.
Everett attended the United Methodist Church in Reynolds. He had a passion for cars and trucks and was a member of the Studebaker Club. He enjoyed reading, puzzles, dancing and dirt track open wheel racing.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Michelle Olive, Reynolds; children, Tina (Gary) Kudlack, Dunnellon, Fla., Stan (Heather) Olive, Colona, Ill., Teresa Olive, Moline, Ill. and Angela (Chad) Olive, Eldridge, Iowa; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kendra, Garrett, Tyson, Asya, Karissa, Collin and Nyles; great-grandchildren, Ayden, Jaylah and Hudson; sister, Rae Tucker; and beloved grand dog, Roadie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ross, Robert and Richard Olive.
