Fairy Fontenoy, 85, of New Boston, passed away Friday December 29, 2023 at her home.

A combined service for both Fairy and her daughter, Cathy Young, who passed away December 21, 2023 will be held at 1:00pm Saturday January 6, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Private inurnment of Fairy ashes will be held at a later date in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Fairy was born on July 23, 1938 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Sarah (Wakefield) Mikels.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who always had the family needs before hers. Fairy loved spending time with her family and friends, working on puzzles and quilting with her daughter.

She was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her children, Terry (Cheryl) Johnson, Margie Johnson, Roy (Bonnie) Johnson; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles "Butch" Mikels and Fredrick "Billy" Mikels; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Sarah; son, Richard; daughter, Catherine "Cathy; sister Katie and brother, Mickey.
