Faye J. Lawson, 95, of Rock Island, formerly of Milan, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Silver Cross Nursing at Friendship Manor, Rock Island. A private graveside service will be at Reynolds Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Faye was born March 21, 1927, in Rock Island, a daughter of William Henry and Mabel Marie (Carothers) Vetter. She graduated from Rock Island High School and married James "Ed" Lawson on March 19, 1950, at the Church of Peace United Church of Christ in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2017. Faye was a secretary for the Rock Island-Milan School District and retired after 26 years. Faye was a member of Church of Peace United Church of Christ in Rock Island and the Reynolds American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving is her sister, Kathy Bost, and several nieces and nephews.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Ed, and parents.
