Fern Marie Tucker, 94, of Milan, passed away Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Vistas at Bettendorf.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church or the Milan Food Pantry.
Fern was born July 10, 1930, in Taylor Ridge, a daughter of Freeman and Frieda (Raecke) Bestian. She graduated from Reynolds High School in 1948. Fern married Tommy L. Tucker on January 10, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2018.
Fern was a loving homemaker. In her early years, she worked at the Rock Island Bank. Fern was a longtime active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Milan, where she was involved in LWML. She also volunteered at the Milan Food Pantry and provided respite care with UnityPoint Trinity Hospice. Fern was an avid bowler and participated in several different leagues over the years.
Those left to cherish Fern's memory include her children, Karen Edmund, Debra (Douglas) Snyder, and Barry (Patty) Tucker; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, J.D., Cody, Chad, Samantha, Victoria, and Anthony; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Grace, Isabelle, Caleb, Gage, Case, Saige, Brady, Blake, Amara, and Abel; great-great-grandchildren, Jack, Cooper, and Laynie Fern; sister, Shirley Atkins; and many nieces, nephews, and church family who she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Orval Bestian, Robert Bestian, and Kathleen Schultze; and great-great-grandchild, Zaylie Ann.
