Foda R. Phelps, 73, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday July 14, 2016 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral home, 3030 - 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 11:00am to service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be left to Gigi's Place, Moline.

Foda was born on June 3, 1943 in Detriot, MI, the daughter of Urban and Dorothy (Kunert) Crawford. She was raised by her great-grandparents, William and Rose Alger, in Milan. She married Gary A. Phelps on June 18, 1960 in Green Rock, IL.

She was a home maker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In earlier years, Foda was a member of Green Rock Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed yard sales, shopping at Goodwill, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gary, of Rock Island; children, Tim(Paula) Phelps, Colona, Tamara(David) Spaulding, Rock Island, Alan (Kelley) Phelps, Silvis; grandchildren, Ryan Nettleton, Ashlie (Jeremy) Severs, Dustin Phelps, Jordan Thorson, Elliott Phelps, Cassidy Phelps, Zachary Spaulding, Matthew Spaulding, Tara Minarsich, Shawna Thrap, Domonick Moore, Samantha Sansale, Tanya Phelps, Shelbi Sappington, Justin Sappington, Heaven Phelps and Jaeleigh Sappington; great grandchildren, Cason, DeAndrew, Jayden, Alton, Zayden, Draven, Kylee, Hunter, Kash and Sheldon; siblings, Delmetta Westmoreland, Galesburg, Bobby Steen, Silvis, Gale Wingert, Rock Island, Dale Wingert, Texas, David Mize, Wamego, KS.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, granddaughter, Alexandria Spaulding, brother, Jack Crawford and sister, Geraldine Boehm.
