Frances E. Jasper, 93, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her daughter's home in Rock Island. A funeral service for Frances will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with a Rosary commencing at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family for a fund to be designated later.
Frances was born on October 7, 1923 in Quincy, Illinois, a daughter of Albert A. and Cecilia Anderson Reinhart. She married Malvern J. Jasper on November 10, 1951 in Quincy. Malvern passed away on March 31, 1998. She had worked as a secretary at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Rock Island. Frances was also a loving homemaker for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking them on new adventures. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Frances was also a dedicated volunteer at Trinity Hospital.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Kathy Jasper, Rock Island; Beth (Rick) Ater, Rock Island; daughters in law, Vicki Jasper and Debbie Jasper, both of Milan; grandchildren, Aaron (Christy) Jasper, Andrea Jasper, Amy Groene, Chris Jasper, Laura (David) Otten, Steven Jasper, Matthew (Rachel) Burton, Michael (Corey) Ater, Brittnay Ater, Jared (Ali) Ater, Jennifer Ater; 13 great grandchildren, with one great grandchild and one great great grandchild "on the way." Also surviving are many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malvern; sons, Mark, Brian and Gregory Jasper; sister, Helen Reinhart and her parents
