Francis "Dale" Adams, 89, Rock Island, IL passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Hope Creek Nursing Home in East Moline. There will be a visitation from 9-10:00 AM with a funeral service following at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. Burial at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Animal Aid in Moline.
Dale was born on March 27, 1935 to Francis and Ruth (Darby) Adams in Bowen, IL. He grew up in Carbon Cliff, IL and after graduating high school enlisted in the United States Army. On December 31, 1956 Dale was honorably discharged and returned to the Quad Cities.
Dale spent his career at Aramark and greatly enjoyed visiting with all the people on his deliveries. He worked there for 35 years until his retirement. Dale then kept busy working for Hy Vee and Walt's service station.
On August 18, 2012 he was united in marriage to Sandra (Friedman) Isaacs. The couple made their home in Rock Island with their beloved cats.
Dale loved working and keeping busy. In his spare time, he liked tending to his vegetable garden. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Bears fan. His homemade fudge was famous amongst his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Sandra; children, Deb (Rod) Menken, Norine (Brian) Daw, Dale Alan Adams Jr., Craig (Jennifer) Adams, Steven (Kerry) Adams, Michael (Leslie) Adams; stepchildren, Robert (Julie) Stradt, Sandra (Scott) Genberg, Arlene Stradt; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Robert (Bonnie) Adams, Jean Thompson
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Jan Adams, Beverly Stevens, and Helen Adams; stepson, Ronald Stradt; sisters, Joann Richards and Carol Long.
