Frank Paul Koeppel was born March 21, 1926, in Knittelfeld, Austria.  He was welcomed in to the kingdom of Heaven on April 30, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.  Frank is the beloved husband for 63 years of Ilse Marie Koeppel.  Loving father of Frank (Judy) Koeppel of Spring Valley, IL, Anne (Randy) Komadino of Orion, IL, and Rebecca (Kelly) Etnier of Ankeny, IA. Treasured grandfather of Scott (Alina Krichevskaya) Koeppel, Jessica (Ryan) Conrad, Joanna (John) Tautkus, Jennifer (Bryce) Palar, Melissa (Tyler) Sandau, Amy (Austin Murray) Komadino, Eliott Etnier, Jackson Etnier, and Tyler Etnier.  The family would like to thank the staff of UnityPoint at Home for their loving compassion during this difficult time.  A special thank you to Frank's cherished daughter-in-law, Judy, who dedicated her time and selflessly attended to his needs during his time in hospice at home.  Frank was always a family man first and nothing brought him more joy than when they were all together.  He will be forever remembered for his genuine kindness, thoughtfulness, and caring nature, as well as all of the stories he shared with great enthusiasm.  The lasting impression that Frank left will forever be evident in all of the generations to follow.  Family and friends to gather Thursday, May 4, 2017, for 10:00 AM visitation until time of service 11:00 AM at St. Matthew Lutheran Church 115 12th Ave. W.
