Obituary
Frank Henry Kowalik, 66, of Milan, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Noon Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Private inurnment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Frank was born Jan. 14, 1948 in Amberg, Bavaria, Germany, a son of Joseph and Aniela "Nellie" Nahnybida Kowalik. He married Mary Jane Gelande on Feb. 15, 1969 in East Moline.
He graduated from Black Hawk College and worked as a mechanical engineering technician at the Rock Island Arsenal. He retired in 2006.
Frank was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; children, Selena Wellington, Rock Island and Kevin (Erica) Kowalik, Davenport; grandchildren, Alliyah Kowalik, D J Wellington, Caitlynne Kowalik, Austin Kowalik and Claire Kowalik; brother, Eugene Kowalik, Rock Island; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
