Frank E. Miller, MD, 88, of Denver, Colo., formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. The service will be live-streamed and be viewed via the following link, https://vimeo.com/1045188867/07fc6ee5d3. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left in care of the Summit County Animal Shelter, Frisco, Colorado.

Frank was born on September 3, 1936 in Rock Island, Ill., a son of Herbert P. and Rosalia M. (Brauch) Miller. He married Jeri A. Magrath on April 14, 1962 and she preceded him in death on October 11, 2001.

Frank spent his career working as a surgeon for Franciscan Medical Center, later known as Trinity Medical Center, both in Rock Island.

He was a fly fisherman and an outdoorsman, spending the last 20 years of his life in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. He was passionate about the Iowa Hawkeyes, where he and many of his family went to school. He was very happy and generous with the family that he has left behind. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Jeri Anne Miller, whom he took care of for 13 years before her death after she suffered from a massive stroke; his parents; and siblings, Herbert, Mary and David. He is survived by his children. Frank W. (Nancy) Miller, Katherine (Eric) Hurlbert and Paul (Carol) Miller; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
