Frank L. Skradski Sr., 76, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island. He was born on September 6, 1939 in Waukegan, IL, the son of Frank G. and Ann (Suponcic) Skradski.

Frank had several separate and distinct careers during his life. He worked as a chemist and safety engineer for Stepan Chemical in Northbrook, IL for two separate stints totaling close to 30 years. He also was self-employed as a machinist before that and on two separate occasions he owned and operated a bed and breakfast inn; The Old Appleford Inn in Gettysburg, PA and later The Potter House in Rock Island, IL. For the last 14 years, Frank was employed at the Blackhawk Education Center in Rock Island where he worked as a teaching aide helping children with special needs. Frank was an avid reader and was a long-time auto enthusiast. He loved sports cars, racing and followed most motor sports.

Frank is survived by his children, Jill (Rockney) Hudson, Libertyville, IL, Frank (Gloria) Skradski Jr., Gurnee, IL, and Jackie (Terry) Fleming, Mundelein, IL. He was the very proud "Papa" of grandchildren, Allison, Cameron, Rockney Jr., Ian, and Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joanne Watson.

Services will be held at a later date. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
