Fredrick "Fred" N. Nahra, 91, of Milan passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday at Wheelan-Pressy Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Burial with military honors will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island following visitation. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan at a later date. Memorials may be made in care of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.
Fred was born on May 22, 1931 in Kewanee, Illinois, a son of Faras and Alice (Wimple) Nahra. He served in the Air Force during the Korean war from 1950 to 1954. He married Lynda Regal on November 24th, 1989. Fred worked as an accountant for the Rock Island Arsenal for 18 years, while also running his own accounting firm.
Fred was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Rock Island VFW, Rock Island Elks Lodge 980, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and mowing the grass.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lynda; children, Edie Quilty, Rock Island and Lawrence Colburn, St. Charles, IL; grandchildren, Andy Herrick, Elaina Quilty, Maria Quilty, Luca Colburn, and Oscar Colburn; and siblings, Alice VanKerbrocke, and Faras "John" (Judy) Nahra.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Fayes Nahra, Catherine Hepner, and Robinette Chandler.
